I’m so happy to announce that the Muskoka Yarn & FibreFest is a go this year. The show takes place August 28. This is will be the first yarn show for many us since the pandemic hit last March. What a wonderful feeling of normalcy this announcement brings to my soul. I can’t wait to reunite with the fibre loving community.
In anticipation, I have dusted off my dye pots and been busy dying yarn for the show. I’ve created some fun new colorways and kept some old favorites too. I love working with color and fibre. Bringing out my dye pots has returned a spring to my step and an excitement to my day. I had forgotten how much joy yarn dying brings to my life.
Please note that standard safety protocols will be in place during the event.
- Social distancing will be enforced. 6 feet of space between individuals and 10 feet of space on all sides between vendor booths, both indoor and outdoor.
- Masks will be mandatory, for both vendors and customers, indoor and outdoor if you are on the property. Exceptions will be made for drinking beverages, as its August and will be very warm.
- Everyone does “the loop” at each Fibrefest to see all the vendors. You will be allowed to do the loop as many times as you wish, however, it will only move in one direction.
- Limited Numbers. We will allow a maximum number of visitors as per the health unit’s guidelines. If you want to ensure a certain arrival time, please pre-purchase a ticket. 25 tickets are available per hour – and will guarantee that you can get in during that hour.
I hope to see you at the Muskoka Yarn and FibreFest.
Stay safe and happy knitting!
