Yesterday we set up our booth at the Port Eglin Farmer’s Market. It is the first time I have participated in such an event and I must say that it was a blast. I’ve spent the last couple of months dyeing yarn, sewing Bento Bags and making stitch markers in anticipation of joining this event. Seeing the display and all the product I created come together was so satisfying. This year the Port Elgin Farmer’s Market runs every Wednesday from 9am to 2pm, from June 6 to September 5th.
It was a beautiful day for being outdoors. I met so many wonderful knitters and I loved hearing their knitting stories. I met a kind-hearted woman who knits doll clothes and then gifts the doll and several outfits to children in need. Another woman I met knits all summer long and then donates her knitting to various charities.
These people confirmed what I already believed: Knitters are beautiful people with big hearts!
Congratulations on your first foray into the retail marketplace!! Your booth is beautifully laid out. Love the big, easy to read tags. The yarns look SO yummy! Wish I could be there. Have a fantastic market season.
